Are you a (prospective) UCR student? Do you like making music, and want to use the instrument you are always having with you? Then join us!
Prospective or current UCR students can express their interest in joining the RCChoir by contacting the choir or conductor. Auditions are usually organized at the start of the Fall and Spring semesters, but a meeting can be arranged at any time. As part of the audition process, students receive sheet music two weeks in advance of one or two pieces which they are asked to prepare. During the actual audition, they sing their own voice supported by three other voices from the choir.
Students who join the choir automatically take the Choir Course. Unlike other courses at UCR, this course is spread over two semesters, and includes sight-reading, taught by Mrs de Jong. Next to that, a substantial number of incoming singers receive vocal lessons from the conductor. More information about the Choir Course can be found in the Course Syllabus.
